‘Climate Hope: Houston’ is part of a nationwide series of concerts that connect audiences through the universal language of music while promoting action on climate issues. Join drummer Charlie Perez leading a fantastic jazz quartet: Jose-Miguel Yamalon piano, Anthony McKinney on bass, and John Calderon on guitar, with a special appearance by belly dancer and finger cymbalist Alesha Yamal. Enjoy the upbeat rhythms and unique song forms of the music of the Americas-salsa, rumba, cumbia, ranchero, etc. This concert is presented in celebration of Earth Day and is made possible by a grant from the Houston Arts Alliance. Listeners are invited to join the musicians the following day, Saturday April 27th from 8:30-11:30am,for a community cleanup at nearby Buffalo Bayou, organized through the Buffalo Bayou Partnership.
