Located in the heart of downtown, Houston’s Theater District is a vibrant hub encompassing 17 blocks. It proudly houses nine professional performing arts organizations, alongside the lively Bayou Place entertainment complex, a variety of restaurants, captivating cinemas, inviting plazas, and beautiful parks. This dynamic combination attracts over two million visitors annually, drawn to the district’s diverse offerings. With an impressive capacity of 12,948 seats for live performances and an additional 1,580 seats for movies, Houston’s Theater District proudly holds the second position nationwide for concentrated downtown theater seats. Moreover, it stands as one of only five cities in the country to have permanent professional resident companies in ballet, opera, symphony, and theater productions, representing all major performing arts disciplines.
